Familiarize yourself with the concept of Level-Of-Detail models. We all want a system that’s firing on all cylinders non-stop, but that’s just not realistic on most projects. Don’t stop when your game runs well, stop when it runs well on a notebook laptop.

Free software like Unity has some great profiling and debugging tools built in. How does your game run in a menu compared to active gameplay? Does the CPU spike when loading a level? Identify which of your scripts are the real monsters.

Learn how to debug and profile your game while it’s running. If you’re aiming for a long-term career, you cannot need to learn to maintain a clean project. The game is out on Steam and runs great, so why spend time optimizing? Because if you don’t, you’ll be cutting off console, phone and tablet, school computers, laptops, streaming boxes, VR headsets, and any machine smaller or cheaper than a gaming PC.

Pick it up cheap and consider it to be a short-doses kind of game - something to have a quick blast on inbetween other, deeper games - and you might get some fun out of it.TinyBuild did the console port for Landfall Games’ ClusterTruck a game game that depends on one or two hundred RigidBodys, MeshColliders and Ra圜asts behaving correctly at 60fps in HD. That said, it's kind of fun seeing what the next ridiculous level looks like, though, and there's a certain abstract daftness to the concept that can make the mayhem (briefly) amusing. There doesn't seem to be much skill required, unless you count as a "skill" the dogged persistence to keep attempting a level over and over until one time it pans out and you're not sure what (if anything) you did differently to earn that victory. I'm not sure I really like the game, because it all seems very random, woolly, and far too reliant on luck. Trucks crash into each other, are destroyed by various traps, fall off the course, etc - so you're forced to keep trying to move forward up the convoy, trying to identify "safe" trucks to jump to, and trying not to get caught up in a mass-wreck near the back of the pack. Thing is, most of the trucks don't make it to the end - so you can't just stand on one and ride it to the end. All you have to do to "beat" a level is make it to the end without touching the ground. A horde of trucks proceed in convoy through a linear assault-course with a goal at the end. You can't see your feet, and have no physical presence - in fact, in this game you're literally just a disembodied camera - so you must trust to your situational awareness of where you are to get through. Platforming in a first person view isn't for everyone. You basically bang your head against a level repeatedly until you finally beat it (more often by luck rather than judgement, but that might just be me!) and you open another level, repeat. Minimalist and linear, with no alternative modes to distract yourself with, it's one you'll play in short doses between meatier fare. Maybe it wasn't there in the options when the game was first released, but it's definitely there now. If your a fan of fast paced extremely intense action games I really Recommend ClusterTruck, It's in a league of it's own. The game has a fair amount of levels to work your way through but they also have a level editor so the possibilities are endless. ClusterTruck is at it's prime when you start to master the game and learn how to double jump just right or how to handle your speed and momentum. There are lots of upgrades to choose from like Jet pack or double jump that can completely change how you play. There is also a nice amount of themes to the maps, Some Retro some medieval but it helps keep the game fresh.ClusterTruck shines when you are in the middle of those "Oh crap" Moments, When your go off of a drop off or double jumping hundreds of meters ahead you get a great feeling of speed and action.

Maps usually have massive drop offs, ramps, Slow motion, death traps and many other ways to die. They move around quite random and can make it difficult to not fall to your death.
